do you sell gift certificates?

  • Jessie is happy to offer gift certificates under the following conditions: the person receiving the certificate is a current J.Passon client (they have had a session within 24 months or a new client that has an upcoming session already booked) OR the person purchasing/giving the certificate will be part of the decision making process for the purchase (a husband giving it to his wife).
  • where does the session take place?
  • Newborn sessions take place in the natural light newborn studio, located in Jessie's home in Windsor, CT. This environment has key components that are a huge part of making the session a success and Jessie is able to control those factors in the newborn studio.
  • does Jessie photograph expecting mothers?
  • Yes! A pregnancy session is available as long as the client is booking a newborn session as well. The pregnancy session would take place when the client is around 7 months along in the pregnancy. Please contact the studio for more information.
  • when does the newborn session take place?
  • All newborn sessions take place BEFORE the baby is 14 days old. Jessie prefers babies that are between 5-10 days old as this age usually allows for the optimum session.
  • why does the session take place so soon after birth?
  • There is a very small window of opportunity for a newborn to be putty in Jessie's hands. Each day that goes by, newborns stretch out a little more, sleep just a little less sound and are more sensitive to be moved, touched and posed. Doing the session just days after birth ensures that the newborn will sleep deeply as Jessie moves, molds and poses him/her. Around 14 days of age, a newborn's skin may also show reactions and sensitivies to their new environment.
  • what can we expect at the session?
  • At the session, Jessie carefully molds and poses your little newborn into natural and organic positions that bring out the best features in your baby. To help the session run smoothy, Jessie has an assistant to help her throughout the session. Her assistant's name is Darcy and she is a high school senior photographer with her own home studio business. The session overall is a relaxing time for mom and dad and a good chance for you to relax and rest, and let the artist work her magic!
  • how do I schedule a session?
  • To schedule your session, simply contact the studio via the contact page, email or phone with your due date. Jessie will check the newborn calendar and once availability is confirmined, an online portrait agreement will be sent to you to be filled out. After that, a retainer of 50% of the session fee is required to secure the session. The session books a very limited number of newborn sessions each month, so it is strongly suggested that you book your session as early as possible in your pregnancy.
  • what if my due date changes or the baby is really early or really late?
  • Once you book your newborn session, you are given priority scheduling, regardless of when your baby is born. Jessie accepts a limited number of newborn clients each month so that she can offer this flexibility to them.
  • why is there a minimum investment and how much should I plan to invest?
  • Each newborn client is expected to invest a minimum of $400. This is in addition to the session fee. Most clients invest between $800-$1,500. Jessie values quality over quantity and prefers to work with a limited number of clients each month. By doing this she is able to offer fully customized experience, tailoring the experience for each individual client. Jessie works hand in hand with the client from the moment the session is booked until the art is hanging on their wall at home. The extensive amount of time she invests into each client, her craft and her business constitutes a limited client base.
  • when will my final gallery be ready?
  • If you are like some clients, you have been anticipating your newborn session almost as long as you have been waiting for your sweet newborn. While you are anxious to see your session images (and rightly so!), quality takes time. Lucky for you, newborn sessions are pushed to the top of the list, studio schedule permitting. Each image in your gallery is professionally and artistically edited to create a final work of art. Your final gallery will be ready in less than 14 days and once it is ready you will be contacted to set up your online ordering gallery.
  • can I purchase digital finals from my session?
  • A copy of the set of final digital files with printing release are available in addition to a collection or as a complete set on their own. Individual files are not sold individually. Digital Collections start at $2,950. Digital negatives and originals remain the property of J.Passon
